Jock Tyldesley
Fiddle

Joch has been the fiddle tutor at Burwell since 2008 (although, many moons ago, he was a guest tutor with Catriona Macdonald). He is best known as a master of Cajun music, much admired for its warmth and good time nature, and is an experienced teacher.

Jock is a virtuoso fiddler with an enviable reputation in Cajun music circles. Not only is Jock the lynchpin of the Flatville Aces - one of Europe’s most highly regarded Cajun bands - and the recently formed Sugar Moon, but he has also toured extensively with U.S greats: Balfa Toujours, Sheryl Cormier, Dirk Powell and the legendry Eddie Lejeune.

As if that were not enough, Jock has a string of performance and recording credits with headline acts such as Eliza Carthy, Chipolata 5, Waterson and Cathy and Reality Check. More recently Jock has joined the highly acclaimed New Rope String Band (which has arisen from the untimely demise of the Old Rope String band) and continues to delight festival and concert audiences with their very own whacky brand of entertainment and musicianship. So it sounds like he is bound to fit in!
