How to get to Burwell

By Car

Burwell village is north of Cambridge and west of Newmarket. The nearby A14 road connects the area with the M11, M6 and M1 motorways and the A1. It also connects Burwell to all points East. Burwell House has its own car park.

By Coach and Bus

Cambridge has excellent long-distance coach connections to the rest of the UK. Here is a coach route-map.

From Cambridge you could get a local bus - here is a local bus timetable (scroll down to find Burwell). You could also get a taxi to Burwell.

By Rail

The nearest station to Burwell is Newmarket - if you are coming from London you must change trains at Cambridge. There are frequent connections to Cambridge from London Kings Cross and London Liverpool Street stations. Here is information about destinations, timetables and tickets.

If you are arriving by train to you can get a taxi to Burwell, or we may be able to arrange to meet you if you let us know your plans. The best way to find out if someone else can give you a lift is to join the Yahoo! Group and e-mail other course members.

By Air

The nearest airport is London Stansted. Ryanair flies here from destinations across the UK and Europe. There is a coach service from Stansted airport to Cambridge every two hours, (timetable) then from Cambridge you would need a local bus or a taxi to Burwell. However please contact us if you are flying to Stansted as we may be able to arrange to meet you.
