Values
Burwell Bash is led by its tutors and organised by its members, for its members.
The tutors are relaxed and take part in everything going on from music to a game of Frisbee. They even bring their families to take part in all the fun. Families are very welcome with children running, playing and even biking around the grounds. Brian Finnegan has been a tutor with us since 1994 and continues to come back for more. "There is nothing else like Burwell Bash". As Tola Custy once put it, "The secret to making beautiful music is to not take yourselves too seriously. You have that in spades."
Planned and unplanned fun is all part and parcel of the week. Activities are planned for each evening but you never know what could happen during break and lunch. The laid-back atmosphere is conducive to the fun and games. Food and socialising are as important as the music with members for years coming back again and again.
As much as possible everyone is treated as a musician whether they’ve been playing for 2 years or twenty, amateur or professional, classically trained or not. Burwell Bash encompasses a multi-cultural experience with members and music welcomed from all over the world.
